A few still-lives
Here are a few studies I did this week. Of everything there is to miss about college I have to miss what I hated doing most. I guess that I apreciate drawing from live more now that I'm not forced to do it. They're not wonderful but I still enjoyed drawing them. all of them took around an hour or two to complete. The spool is my first digital painting.

Something more formal
Since I don't have a big scanner, I decided to take pictures of my bigger school-pieces to put them up here. Some of them are fuzzy, I know. But sadly that's the best that my poor cheap little camera would do. I'll update them as soon that I regain access to the big scanner at school.

Intro
Well this is my first time ever using Blogspot. Or holding a blog at all. I'm really just testing things out for now.
So as it has been implied by my Blog's title, I'm Elise and I'll be updating this blog with my artwork. Even though I called this blog a 'sketchbook', alot of the work I plan to post here is going to be final. I am always looking for constructive criticism even if my work is final. I may not change the work that received the critique, but I'll keep it in mind for my next drawings.
So a little bit more about me. I have just graduated from my first one year formal art class this month, and I will be taking an animation course next fall. Since so far I'll be spending a jobless summer,I want to use it to work on my weaker points in art as in lanscape and perspective. As a young artist, I have been heavily influence by animes and mangas, as well as japanese culture in general. Today I see that heavy influence as a problem since by now everyone has seen anime style and wants something new. I have been working hard to get rid of that style's influence on my art for some times now, and I'm finally seeing some progress. I think I'm starting to develop a style of my own, and that is what I want to post here.
I hope that everyone who comes across this blog will enjoy what they see, from the silly doodles I might post to my more serious work.
